Wydown Hotel | Our Story

The Wydown Hotel St. Helena is family owned and operated by Mark Hoffmeister, his wife, & three daughters, who take great pride in calling St. Helena their home. Much of Mark's inspiration and philosophy about what a hotel ought to be came from Wydown Boulevard in his hometown of St. Louis a beautiful, tree-lined street and favorite running route. After Mark's purchase of the building in 2010, it underwent a complete renovation.  All 12 of the rooms were torn down to the studs, walls were moved, stairwells removed, hallways added, a new lobby created, and high-end furniture from Seattle's Masin's Fine Furniture carefully selected. When renovations were completed in July 2011, the Wydown Hotel opened its doors and became the only new hotel on St. Helena's historic Main Street to offer a unique combination of old world charm and modern, contemporary style --with a dose of boutique whimsy. Since then, Mark and the Wydown Hotel team have worked hard to create a fresh experience and show guests that the Wydown St. Helena is not just another wine country hotel, but a home in the heart of Napa Valley.
